The first thing you need to do when you receive the Deeper CHIRP or CHIRP 2 is to install the Fish Deeper app on your phone. The Deeper CHIRP and CHIRP 2 are both equipped with WiFi that allows you to pair the fishfinder with the Fish Deeper app installed on your phone. But in the case of a castable fishfinder, your phone acts as the display that lets you see what’s going on in the water. This is slightly different from a regular fishfinder which has its own display screen as a separate device that can be connected to a transducer via a cord. Just like other castable fishfinders, the Deeper CHIRP requires the Fish Deeper app to enable you to see fish and other objects in the water. CHIRP is a regular feature on high-end transducers, but this feature is now available on castable fishfinders like Deeper CHIRP and CHIRP 2.
